Day 17: Almost Done – Now What?

Day 17: Almost Done – Now What?

Today felt like crossing the finish line... almost.

I’m so close to completing my first adult coloring book, and honestly, it’s a mix of pride and panic. Pride, because I turned an idea into something real. Panic, because now I need people to actually find it and buy it. Creating is one thing—marketing? That’s a whole other world.

So I spent part of the day researching how to get visibility once I hit "publish" on KDP. Here’s what I’m learning (and planning to try):

1. Nail the Title and Subtitle

Before anything, I’m making sure my title is clear, keyword-rich, and emotional enough to catch attention. People search for what they feel: “Stress Relief,” “Relaxation,” “Motivational,” “Nature-Inspired,” etc.

I’m using Amazon autocomplete and checking similar books in my niche to borrow smart ideas.

2. Eye-Catching Cover

I’ve seen firsthand how a cover can make or break a sale. I’ll make sure mine:

  • Uses bold, readable fonts
  • Pops at thumbnail size
  • Clearly communicates it’s a coloring book (some people forget this!)

3. Product Description That Sells

The Amazon blurb isn’t just filler—it’s your pitch. I’ll keep mine focused on benefits (why it’s relaxing, empowering, fun) and include bullet points for quick readability.

4. Social Media & Community Sharing

Once it’s live, I plan to:

  • Share sneak peeks and time-lapse coloring videos on Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts
  • Post in Facebook groups related to stress relief, art therapy, or creative moms (without spamming!)
  • Email my small list and share it in blog posts

5. Encourage Reviews Early

I'll ask my close friends or community to grab a copy and leave honest reviews. Those first few stars really help build trust and visibility.

6. Keywords + Categories

Amazon’s algorithm works like a search engine. So I’ll choose categories wisely (like “Crafts for Adults” or “Self-Help through Art”) and add backend keywords people are likely to type in.

All this feels a little overwhelming, but also exciting. I didn’t just make a book—I’m building a small creative brand. The journey doesn’t end at “publish.” It just begins.

Here’s to tomorrow, and hopefully... finishing the cover page.
